Broker & Config Mgr: Solaris 8

Problem: all errors that the broker produces when develloping a broker application are writen to the syslog under 'user.error'.

The output in user.error is redirected to a certain file.

Now i wish to have a dedicated file for the Message Broker.
The only way we can achieve this is to tell the Message Broker he must use another level then user.error to log its errors.
(Because other applications also use user.error to log errors).

I've found an entry in the infocenter which talks about changing the syslog daemon, but this talks about changing the file behind the daemon.

We actualy want to change the Message Broker so it writes to another level (which is not used by other applications and we can dedicate to the broker).

Is this possible, or should i contact IBM for a Change Request for the broker?

yes and no, i've opened a ETR with IBM, and eventualy they advised me to send a change request to IBM.

So i prosume they are looking at it now in Hursley.
I hope they accept it and make the changes in a next release.
