Anyone upgrading from V5.3 (any level CSD) to 6.0.1.x make sure to upgrade to the base 6.0.0.0 first. Start up all the Queue Managers and have the migration finish before quiescing the Queue Managers and then applying the fix for 6.0.1.x
Otherwise Queue Managers will not start after the upgrade (direct 6.0.1.1).
I experienced this on iSeries and IBM did not say if this problem is limited to iSeries or other platforms are affected as well. |

Why did the queue Manager not start ? What type of errors were you getting?

| Pointer not set for location refernced. There were FDCs with MCH3601, but like I said earlier, these I think are specific to iSeries. |

We had the exact same problem, on iSeries. Also opened a ticket with IBM and were told the same thing, to make sure we start the qmgrs at 6.0.0.0 first before applying the maintenance.
From what I understand it only applies to iSeries.
