Hi all,
How do we find out the throughput of the MQ system? I mean, how do we find out how many messages are being processed at any given time? (the overall throughput of the system)
I appreciate your reply
Thanks

There is a performance report for each platform, made available as a support pack.

There are a few different support packs that supply some basic monitoring tools, that can help you find out what the throughput of a particular queue is.

In version 6, there are new accounting and statistics functions that can help you with this.

In general, most people rely on for-cost performance monitoring tools - like Tivoli Omegamon XE for Messaging, MQSoftware's QPasa, contact admin's Contact Admin suite of products, BMC Patrol, and etc. to find this information out.

I do not believe there is an individual metric that represents the total number of messages put on a qmgr and the total number of messages got from a queue manager in a certain timeframe - so you have to calculate the total throughput from the individual throughputs of all the queues and the message rates of the channels.

You can see message enqueue rates using Windows Performance Monitor for a Windows queue manager.
