Hi All,
My name is subramanya Rao and iam new to MQ series, my present work is in MQseries on Mainframes,so iam trying to learn MQ series, got little bit
knowledge after reading intercommunication guide.
At present we have one qmanager(NNAT) is installed and it is running fine in (z/os).
Now I want to setup a new qmanager(NNAY) in Mainframe enviornment(z/os), what are all the steps need to be followed to setup new qmanager.
Thank you
Rao. |

The first place to start with MQ is the MQ Information Center. It is comprehensive, complete, and almost always correct. Almost all of the links that are posted here end up pointing at the MQ Information Center - you can also get there from the product page for WebSphere MQ at IBM's website.
The more you learn how to use it, the less you will need to ask questions here and the less time you will spend waiting for people to answer questions.
z/OS is the most complicated platform out there to create a queue manager on. I believe, in fact, that you can only have one queue manager per LPAR - so if you need another queue manager you need another LPAR.
But I'm not a mainframe person, so don't take that as gospel.
The MQ Information Center includes the z/OS manuals that provide complete, comprehensive, step-by-step configuration instructions for creating a new queue manager on z/OS. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

You can have multiple Queue managers on an LPAR and you can also mix MQ levels.
Reading the Information centre is a must before attempting to install a Queue manager - some of the tasks require system administrator authority, you cant just decide to create another queue manager. _________________ Bob Buxton

Read the MQ for z/OS System Setup Guide. Chapters 2 identifies the cookbook-like steps required to create a new qmgr instance.
z/OS in an lpar can support dozens or hundreds of qmgrs. |
