I posted the following in an earlier thread, which turned out to be about the 5.3 explorer titled "MQ Explorer only install"

http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=27799

I wrote:
You can install the Explorer stand alone on a Windows or Linux machine for remote admin of another server install. (Assuming you are talking about the V6 Explorer)

On windows insert the install CD
Install the Eclipse pre-req from the launchpad
Launch the installer
Select a custom install
Only select the MQ Explorer component from the list.

Once done, launch the explorer, connect remote queue managers.

No need for any services running, and no need for the client to also be installed on the machine, the Explorer contains all it needs to talk to remote queue managers.

But the true question is: Is the MQ Explorer on its own still a licensed product?

I know, I know... talk to your IBM sales rep...

Cheers
