Hi All,

I have a WBIV5 msg flow A running under execution group EXEC1.The trace is none on EXEC1.

To make sure I ran the script mqsireporttrace on EXEC1 in AIX and it is none.

Then I tried to debug a msg flow A in debug mode from toolkit and came across an exception cozz of invalid queue name, but thats fine.

I can see the error log is been written in /var/mqsi/log for EXEC1 group for that exception.

My question is, why the log is written to /var/mqsi/log when the User trace is none.

What is the difference setting the User trace from ToolKit and using script?

Any suggestion!!!!!!!!!

Thats an ERROR message, not a TRACE message. afaik, there's nothing you can do to prevent that error from being written into the log (unless there's some filtering in the syslog daemon).

Why is it a problem for you?

So the error related to MQ will be written in /var/mqsi/log even when the User trace mode is none...

Please correct me if I am wrong..

Also is there any difference setting the User trace from Toolkit or running the script mqsichangetrace?..

not just MQ ........ any error in your flows will be written out to this log ..

if you do not want anything in the log then you have to "handle" the exceptions urself by connecting flows to both the error and failure terminals of the MQInput node .....

but it is nice to have it writtem out to logs for support
