I did a search for TLS but the results weren'r relevant to my question, so here goes.
We have a vendor that wrote some custom code for us to publish messages via MQ Client v5.3. This particular application is written in .net C#, and runs on Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition. I don't have the exact code with me, but I can get the relevant snippet if need be.
The issue is that we are forced to upgrade to WebSphere MQ version 6.0 across the board (servers, clients) because we have to upgrade our SSL encryption to the TLS standard. MQ v6.0 is the first version to support TLS to my knowledge.
So the existing code we have deals with cipherspec and keystores to support SSL encryption. TLS is quite similar in architecture to SSL, and I didn't see anything regarding TLS in the MQ API. Is it safe to assume that the code in question will still use the same keystore and cipherspec variables, but just point to new, appropriate TLS values?
Thanks in advance! |

TLS is essentially SSL v3.0.
Yes, your understanding is correct to the best of my knowledge. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
