I am testing conversion. Both of my qmgrs are in AIX box. I changed CCSID and LANG env var in one qmgr as follow

CCSID=850
LANG=En_GB

I restarted the MQGR. Send message to another QMGR. I was hoping the bring english in the source qmgr would be changed in the destination qmgr, but did not. What do I need to get this done?

I am simply trying to test conversion in Cluster.

I have set CONVERSION(YES) in ClusRCVR channel in the qmgr which has ccsid 819 and LANG=C ( NORMAL FOR AIX)

I would appreciate any help

do a runmqsc with "display qmgr all" on both qmgrs and check the ccsid.

whats the format of the message? MQFMT_STRING?

This may sound presumptuous, but if both of your qmgrs are on AIX, why not have them both the same? Conversion is mainly for going from one platform to another. Also, not sure what the LANG env variable has to do with this. Conversion is based on CCSID and Encoding, which are part of the MD.
