Has anyone converted from CCSID 500 to 37. There are some Hex characters which fail to be read as CCSID 37. Such as X'BE' .

What should I do, where is my thinking screwed up ?

The direction I am going is to modify all qmanagers to CCSID 37 at once, if I absolutely need to do this for the DB2 version 8 software.

Right problem. Quick decision, wrong action.
State your problem.
You should not need to change the CCSID on the qmgrs.

Enjoy

DB2 version 8 requires the CCSID of MQ to be 37. DB2 version 8 cannot handle CCSID 500 .

So you are saying there should not be a need to flip to 37 even though DB2 V8 requests this.

We converted all of our queue managers to 037 from 500 a couple years ago, due to special character support, ie. british pound sign, cent sign, etc. There were no issues for any of our applications.

Do you have a statement from IBM saying that DB2 V8 cannot handle CCSID 500 ??

We always used CCSID 37 on all mainframe queue managers and have not run into any conversion issues.
