On z/OS version 6 news I read
" messages larger than 63 KB are now supported - up to 100 MB "
It is very hard to me to believe z/OS version 5.3 can only handle
63 KB messages ...
Where is the trick ?

i assume you read about messages in the coupling facility (shared queues)
the size for normal messages was 4mb at some time and moved to 100mb with mq v 5.3 or 5.3.1 (dont remember exactly).
when ibm started with shared queues, in he first versions only non persistent and < 64kb messages where possible, this increased within the last versions.

Add for Queue Sharing:
on v531 the Shared Messages is on the CF
on v600 the Shared Messages is on DB2.
I'm wrong ?? |
