Just thought I'd point out that we surpassed the 10,000 message barrier over the weekend! A good chunk of those messages have been posted by a number of you, who without your expert help this site would have never become as popular as it is today. I'm currently working to give the site a facelift and try to add more features to it, without sacrificing what seems to be the winning formula: simple layout, minimal graphics, speed, no damned popup advertisments! Are you as tired as me of these flash ads that "float" over the webpage, and there is no way to close them until you've endured their commerical onslaught? Well, we'll never have any of that here! Okay, I'll step off the soapbox, but in the meantime, keep giving me any suggestions you have about what should be done to improve the site, and let's aim for 100,000!

Why not install PHPBB 2.0.1 or even better VBulletin? |

I am installing PHPBB2. However I've made some tweaks to this code, which needs to be propogated to the new version, and I also want certain mods to be in place when the new version goes live (like file attachments). And of course all this needs to be done with hopefully no downtime for the site, so I'm being very careful in my preparations... I've heard enough horror stories from other PHPBB users who tried to upgrade and screwed it up.

Well for my .02, I would rather be using old and inferior, than having to wait for the new and improved to be working
