Title: MQ Consultant

Location: NYC

Duration : 12 MONTHS Contract

Rate: Market

The ideal candidate will have recent experience in a small team that has designed and implemented a Websphere MQ based systems integration project. He or she will have designed, implemented and deployed standard mechanisms to facilitate message exchanges between commercial systems, and will have participated in setting up and administering the monitoring of the environment.
He or she will have excellent communications skills and will have worked closely with or will have directed junior staff during the integration project.

Responsibilities of the Position

1. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other members of the
Interfaces technical team, including staff from client's vendors.
2. Refine and optimize an emerging architecture for deployment of
MQ-related functionality in the migration and target environments.
3. Guide the installation of the MQ product in company environment.
4. Coordinate and perform connectivity and message exchange tests with
vendors providing components to client'snew Commercial Lines environment.
5. Coordinate and perform connectivity and message exchange tests with
web services providers
6. Define tests to verify correct interface operation in the development
and UAT environments
7. Specify, design and implement procedures for execution by the
Websphere MQ Broker (WBIMB).
8. Define and administer an MQ clustered environment (remote queue
manager)
9. Define tests to verify interface performance
10. Define operational reports for MQ activity
11. Configure and administer message system monitoring and train
operations staff in the proper use of the monitoring tools

Mandatory Qualifications

1. Experience in deploying Websphere MQ in a Java and/or .net
environment
2. Recent experience in designing, coding, and testing MQ in a Java
and/or .net environment. This includes both queue manager and broker
functionality.
3. Good communication and documentation skills
4. Significant experience using XML
5. Experienced in defining and implementing message traffic monitoring
for an MQ-based environment
