If I heard correctly (and Jeff/Wayne please feel free to correct me) IBM have announced that support for version 5 (on distributed platforms) ceases September 2007.

Of course this doesn't mean that existing APARS won't be available but it is a good 'heads up'....especially for those people that aren't even on 5.3 yet!

As I understand it support for z/OS 5.3.1 is still going to be available.

The message?....plan to mirgate to version 6.0 some time in the next 12 months or so.

oh...btw IBM acknowledge that it may be good to support more than one level on a platform...but it ain't there yet on some platforms (notably Windoze)
