In the java program we are reqd to give the port no , the ip address
and the name of server conn channel to connect to a QM.
however in a cobol pgm they are not required.
Why is that so?
What are the steps to put message in the QM os another mac using a cobol
program????
Does MQSeries client component have to be installed for it??

That is because your COBOL program is running on the same box as the QManager
and the java one is connecting as a MQ client applicaiotn.
