Hello

I have a question. I want build a cluster Windows 2003 ( 2 computers).
In that's cluster must work MQ 5.3 or later. (apllications must see one server, and one MQ) if one server down, all traffic must turn on the second server and MQ.
Is that possible ??

Thank's for our response.

Best regards
Fokster

That's sort of what it's for...

You need to be careful with the design or some messages can get stranded on the downed queue manager (though they will be processed when it comes back).

Clustering IMHO is not a replacement for proper hardware clustering in a high availablility system, but it's not that bad with proper design. Read the Clustering manual and also the Clustering section of this forum, where there has been much discussion of the kind of scenario you're describing.

Have Fun!

NO, THIS IS NOT WHAT MQ CLUSTERING IS FOR. Not even "sort of"!

MQ Clustering will never allow an application to see "one server and one MQ".

MSCS Clustering, on the other hand, is exactly what is called for and will do exactly that. Additionally, it will actually meet all the requirements of real HA.
