What version of the product do you have?
Did you update the toolkit with fixpacks?
Did you apply the fixpack for runtime? |

Why dont you update your toolkit to FP6?. Of course this may not solve the issue. |

Hi,
v5 Toolkit is not supported on Windows 2003. That could be the cause. |

forgot to tell one thing here... this error also says to increase the "Config manager Proxy retry attempts" in preferences. Even after increasing i am getting this error... i assume this is occurring due to some network problem, and connection is getting lost for a short period of time. |

Interesting. This is just a guess, but try clearing out the Config Manager's Event Log... because this error occurs if the Configuration Manager Proxy receives something from the Configuration Manager it doesn't recognize, and I've seen this happen in the past if the broker reports an error that happens to contain non-standard characters. Clearing the event log will remove the erroneous message. If you can't do this, try logging on as a different user or waiting three days for the log message to expire.
As I say, this is just a shot in the dark - but worth a go in the absence of other ideas

Ah, OK. It probably was an error message from the broker which has now expired in the Config Manager's event log.
I'd be interested to see what caused it; if it happens again please raise a PMR.
Regards
