Abstract
The digital certificates that were used to sign the IBM JCE jar files expire on May 18, 2006, after which the IBM JCE component may not function. This problem affects only IBM JVM 1.3.1 and does not apply to IBM JVM 1.4.x or 1.5.x environments.

The digital certificates that were used to sign the IBM JCE jar files expire on May 18, 2006, after which the IBM JCE component may not function. This problem affects only IBM JVM 1.3.1 and does not apply to IBM JVM 1.4.x or 1.5.x environments.
Tivoli products that bundle IBM JVM 1.3.1 and utilize the JCE component may be affected by this expiration, depending on the build level of IBM JCE that is shipped with the product.
To verify whether IBM JCE is shipped with your IBM JVM 1.3.1 version, check for the presence of the following files in JRE/LIB/EXT directory:
ibmjceprovider.jar
ibmjcefw.jar
If your IBM JVM 1.3.1 includes the IBM JCE component, check the build level of ibmjcefw.jar. This can be done by viewing the content of Manifest.MF file inside ibmjcefw.jar. Build levels earlier than 040219 are affected by this certificate expiration. Build date of 040219 and later ARE NOT affected.
If your IBM JCE version is unaffected, then no action is required. If you determine that the IBM JCE build level is affected by the certificate expiration, then we recommend that you upgrade the IBM JCE component immediately by getting the latest IBM JCE package from IBM Tivoli product support team.

We are experiencing problems relating to the expiration of the JCE certificate, for WebSphere Business Integration Adapters.
we have adapters running for SAP, Oracle and PeopleSoft.
IBM has a patch for the adapter Framework 2.4.0, it works fine, and can be dowloaded from the IBM support site.
however the patch doesnt work if you upgrade Framework 2.3.1 to Framework 2.4.0
IBM is still figuring out a workaround to fix this problem.
update: IBM has a fix for the Framework 2.3.1 issue, it uses the same patch for the Framework 2.4.0 only different path locations for the library files. call your IBM support to ask for this specific workaround.
good luck people! |
