hi all


how exactly PEA differes from Program Execution Server.

The pdf file says that PES is for OS390 only ?

Can anyone provide me the real world difference among them.

This is a workflow question. So if you could move it there somebody might be able to help him.
PEA is kind of absolute. It used to be used when people used the regular fat client that was shipped with the product. UPES is the way to go.

PEA puts programs into execution on all platforms other than 390. PES allows 390 to invoke IMS and CICS transactions

Thx for the reply

So , Do we require PES for non 390 OS systems? (like windows) Does Windows uses PES? as we know PEA is used for executing dlls and exe file (mostly supported by windows OS if i am not wrong)

Correct me if i m wrong , as I understand from your reply

PEA puts the programs and PES wil Execute those programs put by the PEA????
