I am starting QM (WMQ 5.3 on WinXP) using strmqm command. This command automatically starts Channel Initiator for some reason. How could I disable this functionality? I would like to have manual control over the Channel Initiator startup (using strmqchi command)?

Also, why doesn't this Channel Initiator (automatically started) appear in the "MQ Services" Management window? I know it is started (using Task Manager, looking at the state of the SYSTEM.CHANNEL.INITQ queue). Same bad behavioud is demonstrated by the Listener starting from the command line (using runmqlsr utility)

in the MQ Services Console on your Q manager if you click on your q manager your will see the Channel initiator listed

if you right click on the Channel initiator and click properties yu can set it to be manual or automatic

All components are set to be manual: Listener, Command Server, Channel Initiator, Queue Manager
