we have MQ 5.3.6 on AIX 5.1.0.0. They are upgrading the AIX to 5.3 and we are thinking of upgradin MQ to 5.3.10. My question is does it matter if the os upgrade is done first and then MQ or the other way ie MQ first and os upgrade next. I heard one of my friends say that MQ should be upgraded after the os upgrade. Does the order matter. Which one do you guys prefer.

Thanks

AFAIK, it does not matter
I would prefer doing it after the OS is upgraded.

That happens all the time.
When SAs upgrade OS, they don't even notify us. All of a sudden we find that OS is upgraded.

Upgrading to 5.3.0.10 you should consider this bug and
(a) install the suggested interim fix or
(b) upgrade to FixPak 12.
