Hi,

I am configuring WBI MB6.0 . When i am making a domain connection i am facing a error BIP0889E. I had read all the posting but i could't solve this problem. i am not getting any error in the even viewer. The pop up error is saying that

Ensure that the config. managter is available
If so, do the following:
1)select the window>preferences menu
2) select Broker admin. > config. manager proxy preferences
3)Increase the max. retry attemps, initial and/ or Increase time bt. attempts values.
4)apply the changes
5) retry the operation.

I had tried what all it said but no result........

My user id is in mqm,administration..and in the all groups.

Hi,

I was cheking with the conguration ..its DB2 V8.1 with Fix pack2. I find that for MB6.0 DB2 should be 8.2. Is that mandatory to have DB2 8.2 for MB 6.0 ???
Is DB2 8.1,FP2 is creating the problem ????

Plz...let me know

Thanks,
Kevin

Thats confusing, you don't specify a datasource name with the V6 configmgr...... the database is "builtin".

Hi,

have you tried enabling the traces for the config manager proxy
and the mq java client.

This helped me to resolve some issues.

[off topic]
By the way didn't know that DUMBLEDORE was enchanted into the CMP.
And what has BERNARD to do with this ?

As (I think) the error message says, ensure that the Config Manager is running and the user you specified has access to it (using mqsicreateaclentry).
And forget about the levels of DB2 - the CM doesn't use it.

It's a long and fascinating story ... that I won't bore you with here. If you're going to T&M this year, ask me then

It is asking for the MRMDatasourcename......where i had given the a Data source name

MRMDSN is the datasource name of MRMDB database

I was trying to execute
[img]C:\>mqsichangetrace WCONFIG -t -b
BIP8013E: Component does not exist.
A component may only be used if it has first been created.
No user action required.[/img]

When i use mqsilist it is showing the configmanager. I am sure the configmager is running.

I was in administrator and in all groups. I think there is nothing to do with acl when i was in administrator group.....

Plz...Correct me if i am wrong..

Thanks for your responses,
kevin

I was not talking about user traces.

You can enable the traces for the config manager proxy
and the mq java client within the toolkit in the same place
where you made the preferences changes below.

Quote:

1)select the window>preferences menu
2) select Broker admin. > config. manager proxy preferences
3)Increase the max. retry attemps, initial and/ or Increase time bt. attempts values.

This is the syntax for creating a Version 2.1 config manager, there is no parameter -m in Version 6

May it be that you have installed both version 2.1 and 6 on your server
and didn't set up your command-line environent for running version 6 commands.

Hi ,

Firstly my apologies to all who responded to me.

It was my mistake......

I dont have any exp. in mqsi2.1 and WMB6.0. I know WMB 5.0 only. Thats the problem. I got my system with MQSI2.1 ,WMB6.0 installed. so when i need to configure the configuration manager in the view of MB5.0 i was using that mqsicreateconfigmgr command which is reflecting to the MQSI2.1.
When wschutz said that there is no need for the DB2 for creating config. mgr. i got doubt i went thru pdf. and starting working on that and i got it finally.

Special thanks to fschofer for hitting the bull head.

I would like to know would it be any problem do MB6.0 have with DB2 8.1 ,FP2

Thanks,
Kalyan.
