infocenter information is a little confusing.

if it can only access db2, can it be remote?(AIX) or different LPAR?

do i have to edit the dsnaoini file for every new susbsystem?
what is the role of the LOCATIONS table,

again, i am not talkin about the broker database.

any help is greatly appriciated

It's only very recently that any platform other than Windows has been able to access SQLServer - and it's only in distributed Unix that use the Merant drivers that this is added with MB v6 FP1.

As far as I know, WMB on zOS can only access local DB2.

You can maybe use DB2 federation to give the local DB2 access to remote DB2 instances. And I've heard rumors about cataloging nodes, but those involved z/OS meanings of 'catalog' that I didn't understand.
