Hi,

In order to get a message from a queue I am using "q" utility. To be clear, if I want to get 20 messages with required message id from a queue of curdepth 500. Then, I have to write the command

q -I(Q name) -m(QM name) -g xm(msg id) -dd3 > filename

20 times with all the required msg ids.

Is there any way out or any other utility so that I can reduce my overhead from writing this command 20 times?

The simple way to solve this is with a script, that runs the command for you once for each message id in your list.

All command shells that I know of, including windows, let you write shell scripts that will do that.

There are also other tools than the q utility - like CapitalWare's MQ Batch Toolkit - that may help. Not all of them are free.

you can use support pack MO03 to get 'n' number of messages with -r option.. not sure about the message id..
