Hi!
I've got two questions about MQSeires clients :
->1.What happens if a client tries to put a message on a full queue? Is this client able to know that the queue is full and then retry later? Or does the server have to cope with this situation to make sure that the message won't be lost or send a message to the client to ask it to send the message again, ...?
->2.Can several clients share the same channel or is it better to define a channel per client? In each situation, what are the + and the -. And what could be the risks (conflicts between clients who try to connect at the same time,...)?
I need an answer as precise as possible.
Expecting your answers, Thanks a lot to anyone who would give me his help, cause I really really need it. |

If you are concerned about many clients TRYING to connect at the same time, make sure ListenerBackLog parameter is set accordingly.
If you are concerned about many clients BEING connected at the same time, make sure MAXCHANNELS and MAXACTIVECHANNELS parameters are set accordingly.
These parameters will be important for you whether you choose to use one SVRCONN channel for your clients or many. We use one per QM for hundreds of clients with no problem.
See the System Admin book for more details about these 3 parameters.
