Hi. Folks.
A developer try to send French char. to Host z/OS Qmgr from Solaris MQ clint.
But any french char. were ended up "?" even they use
"export MQCCSID=500" which is French Char. support.
z/OS Qmgr has same CCSID=500.
Any idea ?
Tnks.

how do you look at the data? maybe it is just the display program that is not able to show what is in the queue correctly.

did you browse the mq header too? whats the ccsid of the message in the queue at z/OS?

CCSID=500 is EBCDIC, why is your Solaris application writing EBCDIC? Better to make it write with CCSID that Unix understands, like 819, and application on zOS must do MQGET with MQGMO_CONVERT (of course, application on zOS may be unwilling to do this, but you must be strong & insist). Also, I agree that your program to display queue contents may be at fault. It is common for ISPF programs to default to CCSID 037, but you should be able to change this ... or use a hex display.
