my question is how to define the port for the Queuemanager while creating the QueueManager in AIX because in crtmqm there is no parameter where we specify the port but in case of Windows we enter the port while creating the QueueManager in GUI

Hi,
When you create a queue manager in Windows then it sets up all the startup stuff, so it needs to know which port to listen on when the MQSeries Service starts up. However, Unix generally doesn't do this.
You need to define the port in /etc/services and /etc/inetd.conf (check the MQSeries Intercommuniction guide, "setting up communction in Unix systems") and restart the inetd demon by doing a kill -1 on the process id, *OR* run a listener (runmqlsr) as part of a startup script that also starts up the queue manager. You would have to supply this. On the command line for the runmqlsr program is the -p for port number parameter.
Good luck!
