We have two Solaris server with a queue manager on each of them A and B they belong to the same cluster, which contains some additional qms not relevant here.
On both A and B there is a local cluster queue X defined.
There are two MessageConsumer connected to A and B listening on both X.
There is only one MessageProducer connected to A writing messages to X. Thus no messages will ever go to B.
What can I do to achieve a loadbalancing between A and B? Is there such a possibility even if the producer connects to A.
Any idea? |

On v6 you can change the workload balancing algorithm so that it does not use a preffered-local strategy.
On v5.x, you can use a cluster workload exit, or you can use a different queue manager for your PUTS than you do for your GETS, and this other qmgr would be in the cluster but not have a qlocal X.
You can see the documentation of WebSphere Commerce to see some good discussion of this. Or you can search here for 'gateway'. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Thanks Jefflowrey! This are really great news that this strategy can be configured in v6, this solves my problem since we are anyway upgrading all our servers within the next months.
I didn't know there are some new configuration options concerning clusters, I see I will have to play around with them. Thanks!! |
