Okay, so you have a remote definition in a cluster called "default", and a local queue which is the target in a cluster called "cluster1". What is the link between these two clusters, or the two actual queue managers hosting these queues?

they're in the same network...
cluster1 has QM1(on machine1) and QM2(on machine2)
QM3(which has the remote queue defn) is in the default cluster on machine1..
The local queue is hosted by QM1

Can you share the remote queue definition and the channel definition?

Well, I found that it is possible to send a message from a remote queue definition outside a cluster to a local queue within the cluster. It works the same way as within the same cluster.
Thanks a lot.

Well done you!

Can you post the queue and channel definitions (as per fjb_saper) to aid the next person with this problem please? Also pop [SOLVED] at the end of the subject line.

Not only helps find solutions in here, but advertises your triumph!
