Thaks for your help |

/var/mqm/log/qmgr/active/S0000001.log and others
Yes, they are required to start the qmgr
You cannot, unless you happen to have a backup of the entire qmgr and logs _________________ MQSeries.net helps those who help themselves.. |

You can rebuild the queue manager logs if they get deleted or corrupted. |

I think KramJ intended to say cannot. The log files cannot be rebuilt. The only way to recover the log files is from backups - eg. tape backups.
There is quite a lot to know on this subject - there's a big section on backup / restore / data recovery in the System Administration Guide. |

But this will put your qmgr into an unsupported state. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I solve the problem creating dummy queue manager with the same numbers and size of log files and replacing the log file of the queue manager with these files. I also replace the check point control file under log/qmgr directory.
thank you all for your suggestion/ideas |

I encountered similar problem in WMQ 5.3 on AIX 5.2 ,Log files were corrupted and QM was unable to come up, I created the dummy qm and coped over the log files and QM came up. |
