Hi Folks,
AFAIK, the MQSI broker is CPU bound. That means if I have a 4-way machine, if I only havea single broker, only 1 CPU can be utilized. However, if I have multiple (e.g. 4) execution groups in that single broker, will the execution groups strike across 4 CPUs or bound to the CPU used by the broker?
Regards,

A broker is (in my mind) a collection of Execution Groups. An Execution Group has a one to one correspondance with a process ... so if you have 4 CPUs and 4 execution groups in 1 broker, you will find that they distribute their work across all the CPUs. |

There is an environment value to do with processor affinity that you should set if using 2.0.1, IBM have corrected the default setting on 2.0.2
Look at the performance support pacs written by Tim Dunn and there are also articles on MQSI tuning in MQ Update http://www.xephon.com/mq (also by Tim). |
