Hi All,
I have db2 8.2, WBIMB (versions 5 CSD 6, Version 6.0 no CSDs) toolkit, config mgr and brokers installed on win XP , ser pack 2.
The DB2 is running under the user db2admin, the brokers/config mgrs/mq series is running under a user called eai. Both users are part of the administrators group. The laptop is not part of any domain.
Now new client policy requires joining of the machine on the client domain and working on a user configured on the network (network user id). The network user would not have admin rights and would not be part of administrator/power users.
Is there anyway I could migrate my existing setup to this new setup without re-installation.
Also if people out there have installed the setup using network user ids, it could be great if you could share your experiences.
any help on this is greatly appriciated.
Regards,
Anoop |

Hi jbanoop,
Be logged into Windows with your netwrok user, but run the other services with their administrative logins...

Hi Elvis,
The problem here is that the network team wants to get rid of local admin rights. i.e they do not want any user to be part of administrator group.
Also when i try to run the services on my network id, the services (eg db2 which runs under db2admin) refuse to start up. My tool kit also refuses to startup. here do note that the network user id is a normal user with no special privilages.
Hope you have understood the setup.. do ask in case any more details are required.
regards,
Anoop |
