you should only run one broker on the same machine.

Yes, you can install WID on a machine with the Broker Toolkit installed - but you have to make sure that you have all the right versions of everything - WID, Broker Toolkit and Rational Product Updater.

Your best bet to get this to work is to download new installation images from Passport Advantage or Partner World or whatever, and uninstall Broker Toolkit, and then do a new installation of both, and then update everything using RPU.

Once you do this - you will only have one eclipse installation for both products. You will have two shortcuts, though, one for Toolkit and one for WID that both point to the same eclipse.exe and use the same preferences. Which means that if you try to maintain separate workspaces, it gets a little confusing.

Yes, you can install WID on a machine with the Message Broker Runtime installed (not the toolkit) - but presumably this is a server and not a developer workstation, so why would you?

FJ - WID is the Broker Toolkit for Process Server.

I tell people WID is WSADIE v6.1
There is some compatibitlity issues with WID and MB Toolkit. If you install WID first and then broker, you won't have this problem. But the best thing is to download the latest and install like what Jeff mentioned above

Hi Jeff & vennela,

Thanks for your response.

I installed both Message broker 6.0 tollkit and WID on the same mechine and it is working fine for now( may be in future i will get some problems).

regarding workspaces i am using -data in the shotcuts of WID and Messagebroker so they are pointing to diffeerent workspaces.

i haven't installed any Rational Product Updater.is there any trail version for this.

I guarantee you did install Rational Product Updater.

It may be in a different menu option than WID and WMB, but I don't think so. It should be a shortcut with a green swirl icon and be labeld "Rational Product Updater".

It would point to <wid_install>\6.0\updater\eclipse\rpu.exe.
