XMLtoMRM --Numeric/ date fields turn to NULL
If a XMLtag is empty, for a *mrm string* it will become just empty brackets.
This is no problem.
If a XMLtag is empty, for a *mrm numeric / date format*, there will come brackets with the value NULL.
This will generate an error later on.
We can get around by an IF/THEN/ELSE, but if you have a lot of numeric / date format fields in a message, just to check if there is or is not something between the brackets, it will take much of the *performance*.
Anyone encountered this, is there a better solution?

Could you elaborate on both the input data, the MRM types used and the actual output, including samples from the input and output if possible.
If there's inconsistent behaviour here, it's something which might be worth raising an IBM PMR for. |

How are you generating the XML nessages? What do you mean by "Empty brackets with NULL value"? Please explain. |
