Hi,
I have setup a broker system, on windows, I didn't remember that i have create a channel for toolkit. but the setup is working and that is a multi qm manager setting up.
now the configmanager is on solaris, should a channel be defined for toolkit?

This is basic understanding of the product.

Toolkit connects to ConfigMgr. ConfigMgr connects to Broker. Toolkit never connects to Broker.

ConfigMgr queue manager needs sdr/rcvr channels to all brokers. Toolkit needs svrconn channel to ConfigMgr queue manager.

on the toolkit for the creating connection, just ip address, port number, and q manager name is need to be specified. how this connection is related to the name of the channel that is specified on the reating of channel. can a arbitrory channel name work?

The toolkit uses the SYSTEM.BKR.CONFIG server channel to communicate with the Configmgr.
