I wanted to know whether there is any limit on maximum number of connections that can be established to a particular queue manager i.e. is there any limit on the mqconnection call?

Maximum number of channels is set by the MAXCHL queue manager parameter, maximum number of handles on a connection is set by MAXHANDS.

Both parameters described in far greater details and better English than I ever could in the Command Reference manual under ALTER QMGR
