Hi,

Using ESQL, I'm performing an insert into a table which contains timestamp columns (default 6 precision). I can see from the user trace that the timestamps prior to insertion contain fractions of seconds. However, on querying the database after the insert (using SQL Tools query editor), the fractional seconds are zero. I have verified that the database table and SQL Tools is not the issue as I can insert and query fractional seconds directly.

Is the broker performing some rounding on the timestamps?

Thanks in advance for any tips,
Pauline

We're kinda sorry too.

This is not a supported configuration, except on Linux with certain fixpacks.

Are you running on Linux?

Ah-ha... no, I'm on Windows and, eventually, AIX.

ok - back to the drawing board - may be time to move to 6.

Thanks for the prompt response.

Yes, Jeff is correct in that on WBIMB v5 Oracle 10g is (currently) only supported on Linux with interim fix LCR016 which ships the DataDirect 5.0 driver which in turn provides support for Oracle 10g.

Thanks Ian. You say 'currently' - is it anticipated that it will be supported in V5 or should we bite the bullet and move to 6? The Oracle upgrade is forced upon us by a third party application.

Hi Pauline,

This is still in life cycle testing but as you can see from the WebSphere Message Broker Planned Maintenance Release Dates the next FP release is no time soon.

If you require support for Oracle 10g then you have two choices, move to WMB v6 or move your v5 Broker to Linux (as the key to Oracle 10g support is the DataDirect 5.0 Oracle drivers).
