Sr. Technical Analyst - Must be US Citizen/greencard holder, position is for immediate permanent full-time in Washington DC/Maryland area for a Fortune 500 company.

Assignment:
Provide engineering expertise needed to research, implement, and maintain the web application and integration infrastructure. Provide decision criteria for Windows or Unix platforms for web applications. Assist with research, prototyping and engineering of new products at Marriott. Perform research to determine industry proven best practices, and assist in creating and maintaining multi-year future technology roadmap with respect to enterprise application infrastructure. Ensure application compatibility with hardware and software direction. Provide Tier 3 support/escalation for Systems Administration for installation, configuration, maintenance and operational troubleshooting issues. WebSphere Application Server engineering duties as required.

Purpose:
This individual is responsible for server-side software infrastructure direction and engineering. The candidate should have project experience, excellent communications skills, and ability to provide directions to other members of the team.

Measurements of Success:
-Engineer and implement WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Business Integrator across multiple platforms.
-Train & educate Tier/2 support staff, and provide turnover documentation.
-Ensure scalability, performance and availability; design for flexible and rapidly adaptable framework.
-Instrument infrastructure for metric collection and SLA conformance & charge-back reporting.
-Consult with IR departments, operations & application development, to understand needs and directions; formulate comprehensive strategy to pro-actively position infrastructure roadmap to address the needs in a timely manner.

Areas of Responsibility:
-Provide systems planning and future roadmap for WebSphere platforms
-Support Tier/2 organization for systems and outage management
-Provide Tier/3 engineering infrastructure projects
-Provide 7x24 Tier/3 support.
-Provide planning and implementation tools utilized for infrastructure

Technical Qualifications & Education Required:
Technical Skills/Computer:
-3+years Administration/Engineering in a global enterprise environment (+500 server, multi-site data center operations, multi-national organization)
High availability or fault tolerance experience, 24 hour systems operations
-2 years WebSphere experience, with some WebSphere Business Integrator and Application Server; 4 years of comparable or precedent technology.
-Understanding LDAP & MQ Series integration
-Understanding of database connectivity requirements & EAI/ETL processes

-Project Management
-Unix Shell programming
-Oracle / DB2
-HP/AIX Cluster Software (HACMP/MC ServiceGuard)
-Informatica PowerCenter
-Excellent Communication skills
-Detail oriented

Education/Experience:
3-5 years experience in similar position or equivalent skill set.
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
