Business measures are not that difficult to code. There are really only two main things you need.

1) Location you would like to record it at. (which activity, before or after)

2) The expression or field you want to record.

Number one is pretty easy to figure out. The second is pretty simple also if you simply want to record a field from a source or sink structure. Monitor really seems to be limited in terms of the complexity of the expressions you can use for business measures.

After you get all your measures entered there are three more things you'll need to do.

1) Add a new effective date/time to your process. This is done through the info button on the toolbar, if you have blocks add them there also.

2) Export the business measures to an XML file using the file/import export/import export xml/monitor option.

3) Log into the monitor admin tool and import the new business measures. I usually import the new FDL file with the effective date also, I am not sure if this is required, but keeps my model updated with runtime.

thanks for the info, here is my requirement, i have multiple activities in my workflow, most of which are UPES and automatic activity.

1. My cutomer does not want to see all that, he wants to see order moving from first manual activity to next

2. He wants to see how many orders are available in each of the manual activity.

Can you tell me how to achieve these

1. Does he want to see the time that this took place? Use the Event_Time which is a pre-defined expression for you to use.

2. Are "orders" a field coming into or out of one of your activities? You could setup a BM to record that field at that point in time.
