I wish you the best of luck. So you have no experience on z/OS at all? Do you know what the following terms mean: TSO, USS, JCL, PDS, DCB .....

On z/OS, the broker runs in a unix subsystem, what do you know about unix: ls, grep, rm, mv, cp , mount .....

There are significant, non-trivial difference between zOS / USS and Windows. If you don't have the background on z/OS, it will be very very difficult to be a good Broker admin on that platform.

So in addition to the broker manuals, you better start reading zOS and USS primer documents (or get a good friend who's willing to mentor you).

I hope you're not going to start by administering a production system.

Please take a look at this redbook:

http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redpieces/abstracts/sg247198.html

It discusses the procedure for migrating and creating a broker on the z/OS platform.
