We are downloading data from a mainframe in binary format, and converting it into ASCII in MQSI. After converting we get a character field with a HEX value of x'AC'. This is translated into a multibyte character and we fail when attempting to store it in Oracle.

This is a problem after upgrading to Oracle CLient 9.0 and the Merant ODBC driver ver 4.1

Running with the 8.1 Oracle Client and the Merant ODBC Driver ver 3.7 we do not have this behavior.

We are running MQSI ver 2.1, Oracle ver 9.2.0.5 both on Solaris 8.

I am hoping someone in this forum have had similar experiences and can point me in the direcion of a solution.

I am not an MQSI support person, so if you can help please be kind and be very specific in your explanation.

Any help is appreciated.
