Hi,

I want to force my adapters Jtext (5.6.2) and Jdbc (2.6.0) to use the binding mode to connect to Mq. That is they should use a library to connect to a Mq manager that is running on the same machine as the adapters. This is necessary because we will not run the command server and default channels that allow a client connection to be made to the mq manager.

The documentation is not very specific how to do this. It states that binding is the default mode and that for client mode BrokerName, etc. have to maintained [MQManager]:[Host]:[Channel]:[Port]
That is very nice to know, but does not help. When I leave the Brokername field in the Standard properties empty I get an error on adapter start up that I am missing this property.

Does anyone run their adapters using binding mode, and is willing to share an example?

If not you all have a serious security problem, because anybody could use this connection to administrater the Mq Manager.

You do not need the command server for a client connection and you can specify your own channels.

There a ways to secure a client connection which were discussed several times in this forum even with a running command server.

So far i remember you have to specify only the [MQManager] as BrokerName for binding mode.

Greetings
Frank

In the standard property jms.MessageBrokerName you can specify -

QueueManagerName:ChannelName:HostName:PortNo

Specifying the broker Queue Manager name alone will cause the connector to connect in bindings mode.

Thanks,
VK.
