Hai,
I am mainframe programmer.I am new to MQ series, want to learn MQ Series.
I have few questions in this regard .......
1) Is there any free/trial version of MQ
Series software to download and practice
on a PC.
2) Having been practiced MQ series on a
PC,What are the other things I have to
learn to cope up with Mainframe version
of MQ Series.
3) Please suggest some good refernce
material/books (other than IBM) for MQ
Series.
Your early reply is appreciated............
Thanks,
Ramana.

You can download a 60 day trial from:
http://www-3.ibm.com/software/ts/mqseries/downloads/
As far as differences, one of the selling points of MQSeries is that it is 'the same' across the various platforms. If you are using the MQI API, your programs should be pretty much the same regardless of platform. There are some differences (eg, segmentation, grouping) between the distributed platforms and the mainframes. At this point, they probably won't cause you problems.
The place that I've always gone for education is the Quick Beginnings to get things up and running. After that, I read the manuals and look at the sample code. |
