When a MQGET of a string (MQFMT_STRING) message with MQGMO_CONVERT is performed by a MQ client attached application - does the data conversion between CCSIDs take place on the client or the queue manager?
In other words, do the requisite codepages needed have to be installed on the queue manager platform or the MQ client platform?
I assume the QM, but wanted to check.
Anyone know how to add codepages to a z/OS system?
This suggests that the data is converted on the client... If we assume that "the client support code" refers to the client library code, and not to the client agent code. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.
I guess you're right. The next sentence says "The client code assumes that the character data crossing the MQI in the client is in the CCSID configured for that machine." Which a) means that the server has to do the conversion, and b) suggests that "client code" is different than "client support code".
And this makes it explicit. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.
