Hi,
I have recently upgraded my DB2 from v8.1 to 8.2 with the purpose of installaing WMBV6.
I already have v5+CSD6 running on my Win2K Machine.
Before upgrading DB2 from 8.1 to 8.2, my broker admin perspective showed all the msg flows and execution groups correctly running.
But now,in the Tasks window, it shows that Msg Flows are running but the execution groups that contain these Msg Flows are not running.
Whats the matter? _________________ Vivek

Hi javaforvivek,
Since the flows were fine until you upgraded your database, all doubts would go to the database having conked.
I guess you did not create the databases again. Did you stop and start the ConfigMgr and Broker ?

When I upgraded my DB2 version, the broker and configmgr were not running. I started them only after upgradation. _________________ Vivek

Hi javaforvivek,
Why dont you remove and add the flows again. It is amazing that the flows are running without the execution groups running....
Are messages passing through the flows ?

I havent tried passing messages through the flows, but I tried attaching msg flow to dataflow engine in FlowDebug, It happens successfully.
I am in the mid of installing v6.0, so I will try to pass messages later. Mean while, are their any special tips for migrating from v5.0 to v6.0.
Most of Msg Flows dont contain any mapping nodes, but they contain a couple of custom nodes.
I am going through the info center help, but still... frm your experience, have anything special to say? _________________ Vivek

Hi javaforvivek,
Have noticed a lot of problems with Agent controller version...I hope you have all the versions required for all softwares.
Noticed something in the Migration doc...
Quote: |
5. To migrate user-defined nodes from Version 5.0 or Version 5.1, import the user-defined node project into the Version 6.0 workbench and rebuild the project. If you are migrating user-defined nodes from Version 5.0, perform the following additional steps:
a. Modify the <requires> element in the plugin.xml file in the user-defined node project room to match the following example:
<requires>
<import match="greaterOrEqual" plugin="com.ibm.etools.mft.api" version="6.0.0"/>
</requires>
b. Modify the ″org.eclipse.help.contexts″ extension in the same plugin.xml file to match the following example:
<extension point="org.eclipse.help.contexts">
<contexts file="HelpContexts.xml"/>
</extension> |
Best of luck.
Regards.

Elvis,
in this plugin.xmi file, there already are certain elements in <requires> tag.
<requires>
<import match="equivalent" plugin="com.ibm.etools.mft.api" version="5.0.0"/>
<import match="equivalent" plugin="com.ibm.etools.mft.uri" version="5.0.0"/>
<import match="equivalent" plugin="org.eclipse.help" version="2.0.2"/>
<import match="equivalent" plugin="org.eclipse.ui" version="2.0.2"/>
<import match="equivalent" plugin="org.eclipse.swt" version="2.0.2"/>
<requires>
should I remove these elements before adding
<import match="greaterOrEqual" plugin="com.ibm.etools.mft.api" version="6.0.0"/> _________________ Vivek

Hi javaforvivek,
Edited my post a bit to make reading the Quote easier.
Anyway, i think you need to modify the existing line, no need to delete and add a new line.
You have a few lines with version 2.0.2...did you migrate from 2 to 5 earlier or something ?
Not very sure what u'll have to do for those....you could refer the Migration pdf for details.
Regards. |
