Hi everyone,
I have a problem with WMQI 2.1. I think I have everything configured correctly, but when I try to log into the Configuration Manager I get back a message "BIP1305E : The current operation timed out."
Here's what I've done so far:

1.
All DB2 services in windows are logging in with the db2admin username and password. These are all starting fine. (Db2admin and mqsi users have access to all WMQI databases.)
2.
The MQSeries Broker Services (2) are using the mqsi username and password.
3.
The IBM Client Configuration (odbc) has been configured to use the mqsi user to login. This seems to run fine when I test it.
4.
I've run the mqsichangebroker and mqsichangeconfigmgr commands to set all the correct passwords, etc.
5.
Threatened WMQI server with a hammer and a pliers, and used loud, profane comments aimed mainly at IBM.

If anyone could shed some light on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Not sure what OS you're working on, but I had a problem that sounds like this, on Windows XP. I had to make the mqsi admin user a member of Administrators group. I still don't understand why this is necessary, but it fixed my problem (and it IS in the manual, I just thought I would try avoiding that instruction!)

Thanks for replying!

The OS I'm running on is Windows 2000 server (probably the same as your configuration on WindowsXP).

I've already tried adding the mqsi and db2admin users into the Administrators group, but to no avail...

It seems as though, the databases start okay, the WMQI starts okay and the odbc connection will log into the databases fine. Its just trying to get the WMQI to login that's the problem...

I thought I'd just post the solution in case someone else has the same problem...

The reason the Configuration Manager wasn't logging in for me was because when I reset the usernames and passwords on the Config Manager and Broker (using the mqsichangebroker and mqsichangeconfigmgr commands), I didn't reset the password on the RM database.
Once I reset that password usng the ...changeconfigmgr command, everything was working like a working thing.
