I created a QM from MQ explorer(MQ 5.2 on Win 2K). During creation of the QM, i also created the listener process(4th Step) by giving a TCP port number.
Problem is, if i start the QM from the explorer, all the services(queue manager, channel initiator, Command server, listener) are started automatically and immediately.
But, if i start the QM from command prompt by issuing strmqm QM command, Channel initiator service was not started and listener and command server are taking some time.
how can i start all of these from command prompt.
Thanks,
Poorna |

Hi Poorna
I'm surprised the channel initiator didn't start, this is automatic since 5.1 (I tried it on my box and it started - look for "runmqchi" process in task manager).
start runmqlsr -t tcp Starts the listener in another window
strmqcsv Starts the command server
If you using non-default queue manager, then slap the name on the end. All is documented in the System Administrator guide.

You may have issues with using the command line startups of MQSeries, I have
been told by IBM that some of the process's may die once you logoff and that
the service's should be used to start the Queue manager. I dont know how true this is.
