This position is part of the Data Services organization. Data Services is responsible for the data strategy for the IT organization. The team will be the EDB Design and Development Services team. This group operates as a centralize service to the IIG organization to serve application and business data requirements for operational and transaction data for the DB2 environment. This environment is known as the EDB (Enterprise Database). The EDB Architect would be responsible for addressing project scope or greater client and business data requirements for the EDB. This will entail architecting and designing data access solutions with Application Development teams from high level business requirements. Along with the other Architects in the team, this individual will be charge with defining the data solutions and products that the EDB team will offer and the interface protocols for consuming our products. Collaborating with Data Architecture and Data Warehousing teams to address end to end data needs. This role is also expected to be a technical leader in the Data Services organization to help define and enforce Information Management and Data Quality/Control policies. The Application Architect will need to provide technical guidance to development teams, tackle database and coding challenges and take on the more complex solutions implementations. This role will require interfacing with non-technical business users, project managers, business operation clients as well as IT partners from Application Development, Infrastructures, Architectures, Data Architects and Data Warehouse staffs.
Skills Required
Strong communication and people skills are a must for this role. • Experience in the following technologies: Database and Data Communications • DB2, SQL DDL/DML, DB2 Utilities, QMF • CICS, VSAM, • TCP/IP, APPC (LU6.2), Programming Languages • COBOL, SQL, Miscellaneous • TSO, ISPF, OS JCL, OS Utilities, ENDEVOR, XPEDITER, INTERTEST, Platinum DB/2 Utilities, PANVALET, LIBRARIAN, MS Projects
Skills Desired
MFS, SPF/Dialog Manager, Services, BMS, SDF • MQ Series, MQSI, ETL (Informatica or Ascential) • (C++, .NET or Java would be a big plus)
