Solaris with 5.3 @ CSD11

Hard drive on a VCS secondary system went south. The whole system was impacted. SO the SA's replaced the drives and have copied the /OPT/MQM and other system supporting directories over to the newly built system. MQ is up and runnin on the primary VCS'd system BUT....when I do a dspmq on the secondary (which was just rebuilt from a copy) I get:

WebSphere MQ was unable to open a message catalog to display an error message
for message id hexadecimal %6, with inserts %1, %2, %3, %4, and %5.
AMQ7047

Any suggestions?

It doesnt seem like , from the error that you got , you dont have access to error messages catalogue file (amq.cat) , you can copy the files as you see it in primary VCS system ...

But normally i dont do the copy of the binaries (/opt/mqm) when setting up a new system , because from the error code that you got AMQ7047 Unexpected error , i tend to think you just have started your discovery of problems ..

you can try install of MQ on secondary system and just create sym links for the /var/mqm , that would save lot of troubles.

Thanks, after many attempts and not resolving the issue I finally convinced my SA to reinstall MQ on the secondary server. WHEW!!!

So they are off inststalling, which BTW isn't as easy as it sounds. My installation has a core group that wrapped it's stuff around the base MQ install and preverted it. I will say, it is a nice perversion but becasue they are not speedy in fixing issues the install script is broken for our, upgraded, version of the Solaris OS and you have to install all the individual components by hand. BFM!!!

thanks, bobbee
