Dear MQ Gurus,
I have a scenario in MQSI: Need process to kill stalled Dataflow Engine(s).
Need a script which runs periodically to use the MQSI logs to determine whether all online engines are running with no issues or not. if it detects a situation where one engine has not processed any messages during a 15 minute period where another online engine has processed at least 50 messages.
What the utility should do is:
1. Issue an alert to Support Monitor
2. Kill the engine
Earlier we used to monitor the Queue through BMC Patrol where it send alerts when the Queue exceeds 50 messages. So when we go and check the Dataflow we find that it is going in loop.
Thank you,
Venkat |

Hi venkataramanan,
I dont believe that your lead has allowed you to go ahead and kill processes when they fail....
Dont you think you need to find out why they fail and how to correct it ??

Why is this happening, do u mean that the message is backing out ?

Consider activating the Trace feature to discover why the message flow is in a loop. |

Hi ,
You are right the Dataflow engine should not go in loop, this happens when we get any invalid messages from the SAP system and which is being parsed to the Mainframes. Further in some message flows we have identified the flaw in our program while handling the cardinality, however we are working on that which need some efforts.
To have a workaround we adopt this process.
Any suggestions??????

We can help only if you show us the code that is flawed in cardinality....
