Hi All,
I am connecting to a queue manager , using the java api and client bindings.
The queue manager is down and I am getting this error 2195.

MQJE001: An MQException occurred: Completion Code 2, Reason 2195
MQJE007: IO error reading message data
MQJE001: An MQException occurred: Completion Code 2, Reason 2009
MQJE003: IO error transmitting message buffer
MQJE001: An MQException occurred: Completion Code 2, Reason 2195
MQJE018: Protocol error - unexpected segment type received
MQJE001: An MQException occurred: Completion Code 2, Reason 2195
MQJE018: Protocol error - unexpected segment type received

Also there is no FDC files generated and nothing written in the MQ error logs.
If the queue manager is up, the application connects successfully. I am getting this error only when the queue manager is down.
Can anyone tell me how to rectify this problem. A C application would give me a 2059.
Any help in this regard is appreciated. |

It all depends on how the qmgr went down.
If there are still processes attached to the qmgr it may well be that you don't get the error code you might have expected...
Symptom: upon trying to restart the qmgr you will get an error message giving the pid of the offending process(es).
Anyway do not expect to receive a 0 return code as long as the qmgr is down...
